The Door in the Tree
The
Forest.
The Redwoods.
The Door.
The door in the tree.
By the Eel River.
The Child who sees
the door in the tree.
The creak
and crack,
as the door opens.
The child who looks.
The one who steps inside.
The child who sees
who is inside.
The door in the tree.
The who
inside the tree
is a lady.
Fragile as a flower,
dressed in rags.
She beckons him in
to sit and talk.
Inside the door in the tree.
The Forest.
The Redwoods.
The Door.
The door in the tree.
By the Eel River.
The Child who sees
the door in the tree.
